Macao webinar generates positive response from the travel trade

Macao Government Tourism Office India in association with TravelBiz Monitor organized an interactive webinar on April 12 to update the travel trade with the insights about Macao as a destination. A large number of trade partners from different cities of India participated in the webinar. The online event threw light on many interesting facts of Macao.

Representing MGTO India on the webinar were Dency Mathew – Country Manager; Divya Dave –Trade Manager and Abigail Divecha – PR & Social Media Manager. During the webinar, Macao’s offerings were showcased through an informative and educative presentation to the travel trade. Travel trade also virtually visited the destination through an interesting video.

The webinar touched upon all the important aspects that Macao has to offer to the tourists -culture, infrastructure, connectivity, nightlife etc. Macao has become a favorite short holiday destination for Indians over the years. It offers both Asian and European culture to the tourists to explore.

Highlighting the reason for conducting the webinar during the pandemic Dency Mathew said, “We conducted the webinar to reconnect, reeducated and reminiscence the destination with the travel trade. Being a visa on arrival destination for Indians has played a major role in boosting Indian arrivals to Macao over the years. The destination has a lot to offer the discerning Indian traveler from entertainment venues to museums and Michelin starred restaurants. The pandemic may have paused travel for now, but we are optimistic about the future and confident that the travel trade will support us in the future and promote it to their clients.” The webinar also informed the travel trade how Macao has emerged as a popular destination for MICE segment and incentive travel for Indian companies. The destination also has many unique aspects and attractions which are a fit for family friendly vacation. For example, the Giant Panda Pavilion is one such place. The place offers guests to witness the two adorable pandas.

The webinar also discussed various festivals and events that take place throughout the year. Commenting on this, Sonal Swamy, MD, Syrisa Travels Pvt. Ltd., said, “The webinar was very informative and at the same time good refresher course as well for us. The destination is vibrant and has everything for all types of travellers, especially for incentive group. In one sentence, I would say-Macao never sleeps.”

Echoing the same, Vishvajeet Patil, Director, Raja Rani Travels Pvt Ltd, said, “Yes, we benefited by attending the online event as it was very informative. Macao is already a very popular destination among Indians.” At the end of the webinar, there was an interesting quiz ompetition and it witnessed enthusiastic participation. The winners of the quiz competition will be awarded with Macao goody bags.
