La Banque Postale partners with JCB in France

La Banque Postale and JCB have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing payment convenience for JCB cardholders across France. This collaboration will unfold in several phases.

The alliance between La Banque Postale and JCB offers a range of payment options to business proprietors and advantages to JCB cardholders. La Banque Postale boasts a widespread physical presence throughout France, comprising 17,000 points of contact, including 7,000 post offices, and an extensive network of 6,000 ATMs.

In the initial phase, these ATMs have been made accessible to JCB cardholders. Subsequently, in the second phase, JCB cardholders will gain the ability to make purchases directly at the terminals of retailers affiliated with La Banque Postale. The ultimate phase will entail further acceptance at online venues as part of JCB’s expanding global merchant network.

Jean-Marc Vedrune, Director of Electronic Payment, La Banque Postale, elucidated, “This strategic collaboration with JCB signifies a significant advancement in facilitating payment transactions, particularly for international tourists and professionals visiting France. With a track record of engagement in various international payment initiatives, encompassing transfers and the acceptance of foreign cards within our network, it underscores our mutual dedication to meeting customer needs. JCB emerges as the ideal partner, ensuring seamless and secure transactions.”

Ray Shinzawa, Managing Director of JCB International (Europe) Ltd, remarked, “As more JCB cardholders plan their next European vacation, France remains a favored destination for travelers seeking convenient spending options. Hence, we are delighted to partner with La Banque Postale, a prominent financial institution in France, to provide our over 156 million cardholders with enhanced spending opportunities across the country.”

La Banque Postale, as a participant in the European Payments Initiative (EPI) and a staunch supporter of international payments, plays a pivotal role in the payment landscape. This collaboration with JCB reflects the escalating demand among foreign tourists to utilise their credit cards for transactions in France. For JCB, ensuring easy and expanded access to preferred payment options for cardholders is of paramount importance. France stands as a critical market for JCB, and the collaboration with La Banque Postale constitutes a cornerstone in JCB’s strategy to augment its acceptance across Europe.
