Corona India certifies sunsets for hotels

With the unveiling of the world’s inaugural sunset view rating system for luxury hotel accommodations, Corona India ensures that you receive the sunset experience you anticipate. This innovative initiative is currently undergoing trials at select luxury hotels such as CGH Brunton Boatyard, Niraamaya Surya Samudra, and Brij Laxman Sagar, situated in Kochi, Kovalam, and Pali, respectively.

Corona’s campaign spotlighting captivating sunset panoramas is poised to captivate the hearts of every traveller. Developed in collaboration with Digitas India, a part of Publicis Groupe India, this campaign empowers luxury travellers to assess the sunset ratings of esteemed hotels nationwide through CRED Escapes, a luxury travel platform catering to India’s discerning 1%.

With nearly 90% of urban dwellers spending their time indoors, the allure of sun tourism has witnessed a surge in popularity. Recognising this trend, Corona India embarked on a novel endeavor—a sunset visual quality rating system akin to a Michelin Star for culinary establishments. This pioneering approach ensures travellers the assurance of experiencing nature’s spectacle firsthand, transforming ephemeral moments into cherished memories.

Crafted by an interdisciplinary team of atmospheric scientists and big data analysts, the rating system leverages 43 years of historical atmospheric data from ECMWF and NASA to establish a new standard in sunset quality assessment. The predictive model evaluates various parameters including location, wind speed, AQI, and cloud cover to assign a sunset quality score from a hotel room on a 5-point scale.

“We all appreciate taking a pause from our bustling daily lives to relish the splendor of sunsets. If a hotel room can guarantee impeccable service and a plethora of amenities, why shouldn’t it pledge a remarkable sunset view? With The Corona Sunset View, we aspire to redefine how people savor sunsets—unwinding with friends, enjoying a cold Corona garnished with lime,” remarked Vineet Sharma, Vice President Marketing & Trade Marketing, AB InBev India.

“We’ve all experienced that one hotel where everything seems flawless, only to be let down by the sunset view after investing considerable time and resources planning a holiday. The Corona Sunset View amalgamates distinctive scientific data and predictive modeling to address a real-world issue, ensuring that sunset enthusiasts can relish their moments with certainty, and positioning Corona as the epitome of the world’s most magnificent sunsets,” added Abraham Varughese, CCO, Digitas India.
