Air India to start Delhi Zurich flights from June

Air India is actively expanding its global network in line with its business strategy of direct connectivity from India to key international destinations. Instead of routing Indian travellers through intermediate stops in Europe and the USA, the airline is enhancing its offerings with direct flights. Recent additions to Air India’s route map include services to Phuket and Ho Chi Minh City.

In its ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in Europe, Air India will inaugurate a new non-stop route between Delhi and Zurich starting June 16, 2024. Utilising its state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, the airline will operate this service four times weekly, providing travellers from Switzerland, southern Germany, and western Austria with seamless access to Delhi and onward connections to destinations across Air India’s expanding network.

This strategic expansion aligns with Air India’s commitment to facilitate convenient travel for passengers, enabling smooth connections to popular destinations such as Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Ho Chi Minh City, Kathmandu, Melbourne, Phuket, Singapore, and Sydney, among others.

Campbell Wilson, CEO, Air India, highlighted the significance of this new route in fostering stronger ties between India and Switzerland, both economically and culturally. With Switzerland being a preferred destination for Indian tourists and a hub for numerous Swiss companies operating in India, the addition of the Delhi-Zurich route reinforces the mutual benefits of enhanced connectivity.

Furthermore, Air India is enhancing its services to Phuket by doubling its operations between Delhi and the popular Thai destination. Commencing June 1, 2024, the airline will operate a total of six weekly flights, facilitating smoother connections for passengers travelling from Europe to Phuket.

These developments underscore Air India’s commitment to expanding its international footprint and catering to the growing demand for both business and leisure travel between India and key global destinations. Travellers can conveniently book their flights through Air India’s website, mobile app, and other available channels.
