Rajasthan unveils India’s first luxury electric cruise on Ajmer’s Ana Sagar Lake

Rajasthan has launched India’s first luxury electric cruise on Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer, marking a significant move towards eco-friendly and sustainable tourism in the region.

This new initiative offers tourists a premium experience while minimising environmental impact. Owned by JP Dadhich and developed by Goa-based Board Craft Private Limited, the project involved a total investment of INR 5 crore.

Features and Design
The luxury e-cruise, made from lightweight fiber, is designed to operate even in shallow waters, requiring a depth of only four feet. At 22 meters long, the double-decker vessel includes an air-conditioned lower deck and an open-air upper deck ideal for parties or scenic views. With a capacity of 150 passengers—75 on each deck—the cruise provides onboard amenities like a fully equipped kitchen serving a variety of cuisines and separate restrooms for men and women.

Eco-Friendly and Sustainable
The e-cruise is powered entirely by batteries, ensuring zero emissions, with plans to add solar panels to further reduce its carbon footprint. Additionally, bio-toilets onboard minimise pollution, making it a model of sustainable luxury tourism. Safety measures include CCTV cameras, life jackets, and a standby rescue boat.

Entertainment and Pricing
The upper deck offers a lively atmosphere with music and dancing, while the cruise provides stunning views of the historical Ana Sagar Lake, a site with deep historical significance dating back to the 12th century. Ticket prices are set at INR 350 for adults and INR 250 for children, with the trip lasting about an hour.

This luxury e-cruise not only enhances the tourism experience but also serves as an example of how sustainability can be integrated into the travel and hospitality sector in Rajasthan.
