Sharjah Tourism to showcase its historical side among Indian families

Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is keen to position the emirate as a historical and cultural destination in the Indian market, especially among the family audience.

Talking to TravelBiz Monitor during his recent visit to India, HE Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman, SCTDA, said that India is their second important source market, and they are looking at complementing their neighbouring emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi in terms of offerings for incoming tourists.

With a view to showcase the rich heritage of Sharjah, SCTDA is keen to promote its desert activities, leisure hotels for family travellers, VFR segment and for film shoots.
