The newly-inaugurated sound and light show at Golconda Fort, Telangana is set to be a transformative multimedia experience funded by the Indian Oil Foundation. The inauguration ceremony was officiated by Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G. Kishan Reddy.
Film actor Chiranjeevi, who has personal connections with Golconda Fort through the shooting of songs, fights, and advertisements, expressed the fort’s potential for tourism and employment. He specifically mentioned the picturisation of his son Ram Charan’s song in the movie Magadheera at the fort. Chiranjeevi, a former culture minister, urged a focused effort on tapping into the tourism and employment opportunities that Golconda Fort presents.
In his address, Minister Reddy highlighted the significance of showcasing the rulers and their reign in the sound and light show to depict Indian culture. He emphasised the government’s commitment to enhancing tourism in the country and announced plans to implement a similar multimedia system at the Warangal Fort, with work set to commence soon.
Reddy asserted that there is no shortage of funding for such projects and expressed the need for collaboration with the State government to successfully execute them.
As per information from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the entry for the evening sound and light show at Golconda Fort is free on today and tomorrow, starting from 6.30 p.m. onwards. This initiative aims to encourage public participation and promote the cultural heritage of Golconda Fort during the specified dates.
