Maldives eliminates Imuga Traveller Declaration for departing passengers

Starting August 15, 2024, Maldives Immigration will no longer require outbound travellers to complete the Imuga Traveller Declaration form when departing the country.

This change, directed by the Controller General of Immigration, aims to enhance the travel experience by streamlining the departure process at Maldivian airports.

The elimination of the Imuga Traveller Declaration, previously mandatory for all tourists leaving the Maldives (though lifted earlier for Maldivian citizens), is expected to lead to a more seamless flow of travellers.

Hotels and resorts in the Maldives are encouraged to inform their guests and staff about this procedural update to ensure a smooth transition and maintain high service standards during departures.
