The Malaysia Pavilion aims to engage with Middle Eastern buyers, showcasing tailored tourism products and services to meet their specific preferences and needs. This emphasises the significance of West Asia as a pivotal source of tourists, particularly during the summer vacation season.
During the Malaysia Pavilion launch, Datuk Yasmin Mahmood highlighted their aspirations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and the concerted effort to attract more tourists from West Asia. Malaysia’s status as a top destination for Muslim travellers, combined with intensified promotional activities, is expected to help achieve their targets.
In 2024, Malaysia is targeting 27.3 million international tourist arrivals, aiming to generate RM102.7 billion in tourism receipts. The increasing number of visitors from the Gulf region in recent years further fuels Tourism Malaysia’s determination to nurture and expand this market segment.
