Malaysia Airlines to increase frequency on Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur route from Aug 1

Due to robust travel demand and strong load factor performance on the Amritsar-Kuala Lumpur route, Malaysia Airlines will enhance its service frequency from four to seven times weekly, effective August 1. This increase follows the airline’s earlier adjustment from two to four weekly flights to Amritsar in Jan, reflecting the growing market confidence.

With this frequency boost, Malaysia Airlines’ total weekly flights in India will reach 71. Amritsar, introduced as a new route in November 2023 alongside Ahmedabad and Trivandrum, is part of the airline’s strategic expansion in India. The Trivandrum route’s frequency was also recently raised to four times weekly from April 3.

Malaysia Airlines maintains an extensive network in India, operating flights from nine major cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandrum. Serving as a vital gateway for Indian travelers to Asia and beyond, the airline offers seamless connections to destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, and other key locations in the Asia Pacific region.

Dersenish Aresandiran, CCO, Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), expressed, “India remains a cornerstone of our business strategy. We are pleased to enhance our operations in this dynamic market by increasing flight frequencies from Amritsar. With 71 weekly flights between India and Malaysia, we are committed to providing enhanced flexibility and travel options to Indian travelers, serving as the gateway to Asia and beyond. With our extensive network, comfortable transit options, and our renowned Malaysian Hospitality, we are confident in meeting the rising travel demand from India.”

To celebrate the expanded flight frequencies, Malaysia Airlines is offering special promotional fares to encourage Indian travelers to explore Malaysia. Promotional round-trip fares from Amritsar to Kuala Lumpur start at INR 15,099 and are available for booking until June 7, for travel until March 31, 2025.
