Lempuyang Temple increases entry fees effective March 1

Commencing on March 1, 2024, the entrance fees for the Lempuyang Temple, located in Purwayu Traditional Village within the Abang District of Karangasem, are scheduled to undergo an adjustment.
This decision follows the regional government’s imposition of taxes and levies on multiple tourist sites in the Karangasem region. I Nyoman Jati, Bender of Purwayu Traditional Village, disclosed that a 10% regional tax and levy were introduced, prompting a consensus during the Paruman to revise ticket prices for both domestic and international visitors.

Jati confirmed on Friday (Feb 23, 2024) that the decision to modify ticket prices was reached after consultations with tour guides and village officials. He emphasised that the price adjustment is moderate, positioning the new rates below those of other attractions that have recently undergone similar revisions. Specifically, the entrance fee for domestic tourists will rise from IDR 30,000 to IDR 40,000, while international visitors will witness an increase from IDR 55,000 to IDR 70,000.

The rationale behind this modest increment, as noted by Jati, is to prevent imposing excessive financial strain on tourists visiting the revered Lempuyang Temple. He assured that the adjusted pricing remains within a reasonable range. In anticipation of this change, Jati mentioned that notifications have been disseminated on social media platforms and communicated to all travel agencies to inform potential visitors about the revised entrance fees effective from March 1, 2024.

Jati expressed optimism that the adjustment in ticket pricing would not discourage tourists from exploring the Lempuyang Temple, renowned for its spiritual significance and natural allure, and remains hopeful about sustaining high visitor numbers.
