The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced a daily luxury bus service connecting Bengaluru to Puri, aiming to revolutionise religious tourism and long-distance travel. Covering approximately 1,500 kilometers, this new route provides a direct and comfortable option for pilgrims and tourists travelling to the revered Jagannatha Dham, one of India’s most significant religious sites.
The 18-hour journey ranks among the longest daily bus routes in the country. KSRTC’s luxury buses are equipped with modern amenities such as plush seating, air conditioning, onboard refreshments, and entertainment to ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience. The service caters to the growing demand for reliable, high-quality transportation to prominent religious destinations.
This initiative aligns with broader efforts to boost religious tourism and enhance inter-state connectivity. It complements Odisha’s luxury Char Dham bus services, which were recently introduced to facilitate travel to key pilgrimage sites in the region. Together, these offerings reflect a coordinated push to make religious travel more accessible and comfortable across India.
By launching this route, KSRTC significantly enhances the convenience of long-distance travel for pilgrims. The service is expected to attract a large number of devotees visiting Puri, providing them with a hassle-free journey while promoting cultural and religious tourism between Karnataka and Odisha.
