J&K taking innovative measures to position state as tourist hotspot

In a strategic move, the Tourism Department of Jammu and Kashmir is actively pursuing innovative measures to elevate the state into a coveted tourist spot. Officials revealed that the department is exploring potential projects in public-private partnerships, aiming to boost tourism in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.

Following a comprehensive review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, attended by Tourism Commissioner Secretary Yasha Mudgal, the officials disclosed plans to collaborate with private entities for Formula 4 races, adding an exciting dimension to the tourism development strategy.

The recent meeting focused on brainstorming and implementing new and creative steps to position Jammu and Kashmir as the top tourist destination in the country. Among the initiatives discussed, the department is contemplating partnerships with private stakeholders to enhance footfall.

Additionally, the Tourism Department plans to host a three-day conference, inviting high-profile experts from various domains such as administration, hospitality, tourism academia, and ecotourism. This forward-thinking approach aims to leverage expertise and insights to further refine and execute the renewed tourism development plan for the region.
