Indonesian government emphasises quality over quantity in tourism

Indonesia aims for sustainable and immersive travel experiences, as underscored by Minister Uno’s quality-first approach.

“We target a million visits focused on immersive and responsible experiences.”, he said during a working visit to Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai district, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province.

Indonesia promotes longer stays and shopping sprees, supporting local creativity and businesses. The government encourages extended stays, authentic interactions, and supporting local entrepreneurs through tourism.

Eco-tourism, cultural immersion, and responsible travel are key for Labuan Bajo, attracting discerning foreign travelers and aligning with Indonesia’s quality tourism priorities. Indonesia focuses on crafting immersive and responsible tourism experiences.

Partnering with airlines to establish direct routes from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok is the government’s immediate focus.

The government is crafting a presidential regulation to govern a dedicated tourism fund.

“We’re nearing the finish line on the Presidential decree for the tourism fund, with an exciting announcement expected soon.”, he said.

“BPOLBF has plans to ignite tourism in West Manggarai. Labuan Bajo will host an array of national and international events every month, drawing visitors from near and far.”, BPOLBF president director Shana Fatina stated earlier.

Labuan Bajo has a million-visitor target. Meanwhile, Parapuar gets ready for a collaborative effort to enhance facilities, attractions, and accommodations.

While December numbers reached 800,000 tourists, BPOLBF isn’t slowing down. They’re packing the low season with national events to keep Labuan Bajo buzzing.
