IndiGo and Qantas partner on 11 new codeshare routes in Australia

IndiGo recently unveiled 11 fresh routes as part of its expanded codeshare collaboration with Qantas Airways, Australia’s national carrier, commencing from March 31, 2024. Ticket sales commenced on March 12, offering IndiGo patrons the opportunity to traverse major tourist and economic centers in Australia, spanning from Sydney and Melbourne to Adelaide, Brisbane, and Canberra.

“With the addition of these new codeshare links, travelers can seamlessly continue their journey within Australia on Qantas-operated domestic flights to three additional cities—Adelaide, Canberra, and Gold Coast,” affirmed the airline. “This expansion presents Indian tourists, as well as business and leisure travelers, with a plethora of options to explore destinations across Australia, particularly during the forthcoming summer season. IndiGo presently facilitates travel options to Singapore and ensures smooth connectivity to Qantas’ flights between Singapore and Australia,” it further elaborated.

Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales, IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to introduce these fresh connections within Australia, in collaboration with Qantas. Through this codeshare, our passengers can not only journey to Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane via Singapore but also extend their travels to Adelaide, Canberra, and the Gold Coast. With the Indian aviation sector experiencing transformative growth, this partnership, as India’s premier carrier, will also augment our global presence leveraging Qantas’ unparalleled network.
