Indian Travel Agents explore Peru and Bolivia via FAM trip

In a collaboration, Latin America Travel Concept (LATC), a prominent South American DMC, joined forces with Benchmark Travel Representations to successfully conduct their inaugural familiarisation trip for Indian travel trade partners. The focus was on exploring the culturally and naturally rich landscapes of Peru and Bolivia, marking a significant milestone in promoting these South American destinations within the Indian market.

The orchestrated expedition, which unfolded in December 2023, featured six esteemed travel companies—Bespoke Journeys, Skyroutes, Chrysalis Holidays, Arunodaya Travels, and Mango Holidays. These select partners embarked on a curated journey aimed at showcasing the diverse leisure opportunities available in Peru and Bolivia, catering to both individual travellers and group tours.

The participants delved into key Peruvian destinations such as Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Puno, and the iconic Machu Picchu. Their itinerary included memorable experiences like navigating the Peruvian Amazon, exploring the Maras Salt Mines, and traversing Urubamba and Ollantaytambo aboard the Inca Rail trains. In Bolivia, the group was captivated by a high-speed hydrofoil journey across Lake Titicaca and the distinctive urban landscape of La Paz. The trip concluded with a stay at a salt hotel in Uyuni, complemented by an excursion to the breathtaking Salt Flats—an awe-inspiring visual marvel and paradise for photographers. This immersive visit not only deepened the agents’ knowledge and firsthand experiences of these destinations but also exposed them to the luxurious and culinary richness that Peru and Bolivia offer.

This familiarisation trip signifies the commencement of a promising relationship between the Indian travel trade community and the Latin American tourism sector. LATC and Benchmark Travel Representations express confidence that this initiative will lead to an increased flow of tourism from India to these culturally diverse South American nations, positioning them as versatile, year-round destinations.

Agents returned with a wealth of unforgettable memories and insights, poised to recommend and tailor unique travel experiences for their clients. This endeavor aims to foster understanding and appreciation of the South American continent among Indian travelers.
