First train to run between Pune and Secunderabad
The Indian Railways is developing a sleeper version of the popular Vande Bharat Express trains to cater to the growing demand for overnight long-distance travel.
The first sleeper Vande Bharat train is planned to run between Pune and Secunderabad, replacing the existing Shatabdi Express on this route. The new train is expected to complete the journey in 7 hours and 25 minutes, an hour faster than the Shatabdi Express.
The sleeper Vande Bharat train will feature enhanced amenities such as sensor-based lighting, improved soundproofing, automatic doors with communication devices, dedicated dining areas, wheelchair accessibility, luxurious sleeper berths, and modernised toilets.
These features are aimed at providing passengers with a comfortable and convenient overnight travel experience.
The introduction of the sleeper Vande Bharat train showcases the continuous advancements made by Indian Railways in improving rail travel for the public. This new train is expected to be launched within the first 100 days of the new government’s tenure, as part of their 100-day achievement plan.
