India, Bhutan in talks for rail links to promote tourism: Jaishankar

To promote trade and tourism between India and Bhutan, the Indian government is keen to establish rail link between the two nations, said External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. He spoke about the ongoing talks between India and Bhutan regarding the establishment of a railway link between Assam’s Kokrajhar and Bhutan’s Gelephu.

Enumerating on the government’s initiatives he said that in order to facilitate people-to-people contacts, it is important to have bus services, cross-border passenger train services, and inland waterway routes.
