IHCL Expands to Ranchi with Taj Hotel

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel in Ranchi, Jharkhand. This greenfield project, marking IHCL’s entry into Ranchi, will be developed on a six-acre land parcel leased from the State Government of Jharkhand.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, “We are delighted to bring the iconic Taj brand to Ranchi, a city with immense potential for growth. Ranchi’s strategic location and its ongoing transformation into a smart city make it a promising destination. This signing aligns with our strategy of building our presence in the region, which is rapidly developing into a significant industrial, commercial, and cultural hub.”

The hotel’s prime location in Dhurwa offers excellent connectivity and visibility. The 200-key Taj, Ranchi, will provide guests with a range of modern amenities, including extensive banqueting areas, a diverse selection of food and beverage options, and a well-equipped wellness center.

Ranchi is undergoing significant infrastructural developments aimed at transforming it into a smart city. The hotel’s location within the Core Capital Area will place it in the heart of the city’s new central business district, in proximity to the Vidhan Sabha, government offices, and corporate headquarters.

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have six hotels in Jharkhand, including one currently under development.
