Goa Wins ‘Best Coastal Spirit Showcase’ at TITF 2024

 

Goa claimed the ‘Best Coastal Spirit Showcase’ award at the Tashkent International Tourism Fair (TITF) 2024, held at the CAEx in Tashkent. This accolade, presented by Dilshad Bahadirovich, Director of Uzbekistan’s “National PR-center,” highlights Goa’s growing prominence in global tourism. The delegation, led by Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, showcased Goa as a destination that transcends its beaches, emphasising hinterland adventures, cultural heritage, and sustainable tourism.

During the event, Shri Khaunte paid tribute at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Monument in Tashkent, celebrating the enduring cultural and historical ties between India and Uzbekistan. He also met with Shukhrat Yadgarov, Deputy Chairman for Commerce and Tourism of Uzbekistan Airlines, to discuss enhancing air connectivity between Tashkent and Goa, aiming to boost tourism and foster bilateral relations. Collaborative discussions with Shri Umid Shadiev further explored initiatives to strengthen ties and promote mutual growth in tourism.

The Goa Tourism pavilion captivated visitors with its innovative presentations, VR experiences, and cultural performances, drawing significant attention from trade partners and investors. Shri Rohan A. Khaunte highlighted Goa’s commitment to sustainable tourism, stating that Goa’s efforts to preserve its cultural and natural treasures while promoting responsible travel were well-received at TITF. These initiatives align with Goa’s vision of harmonising tourism growth with ecological and cultural conservation.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed pride in Goa’s global recognition, underscoring the state’s vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality. A Meet & Greet event, organised by Goa Tourism in collaboration with the Embassy of Bharat, further celebrated Goa’s offerings with trade partners and influencers, showcasing the state’s diverse appeal through cultural programs and interactive sessions. Goa Tourism’s success at TITF 2024 reaffirms its position as a global leader in sustainable and experiential travel.
