flybig launches Guwahati – Dibrugarh daily direct flights

Guwahati – Silchar flights to start from May 15

The flybig, a leading airline based in Guwahati, has launched direct daily Guwahati-Dibrugarh-Guwahati morning evening flights. The inaugural flight was flagged-off by Jayanta Mala Baruah, Minister of Tourism, Assam, at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati . The flight will operate at 09:35 AM daily and return in the evening at 04:30 PM.

Present on the occasion were Manindar Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Assam, Dilip Das, Vice Chairman Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), and Kumar Padmapani Bora MD ATDC. The flight from Dibrugarh to Guwahati was flagged-off by Rituparna Baruah ATDC Chairman and Dibrugarh DC i Biswajit Pegu.

In his address Baruah said that the Assam Government is committed to fulfilling the dream project of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to connect the remotest areas of the Northeast through air connectivity. He also shared with media that the flybig will also be launching Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati flight from May 15th 2023. The two flights will be operated under Viability Gap Funding for promotion of regional air connectivity by ATDC for Assam. He also stated that whether it be for flood evacuations or providing connectivity to the remotest regions in the state, the flybig is the first choice of our Chief Minister.

“We are thrilled to launch this new direct daily flight from Guwahati to Dibrugarh and back. This route has been a long-standing demand of the people of Assam, and we are proud to be able to fulfil it,” said Bora.

“Flybig is committed to the development of air travel in Assam, and this new direct daily flight is just the beginning of the airline’s efforts to provide better air connectivity to the people of the state. The airline is constantly expanding its services and exploring new routes to connect more people to more places,” said Rajiv Sharma EVP flybig.
