The Adventure Tour Opertors Association of India (ATOAI) organised the ‘ATOAI seminar and adventure tourism roadshow’ in Mumbai yesterday with 13 exhibitors. This was the first in the series of line up events to be hosted across India. The event was supported by the Union Ministry of Tourism.
The event was divided into panel discussions, expert presentations and B2B meetings with an aim to give members across India an opportunity to interact and gain insight into the best practices, guidelines, and protocols for Adventure Tourism, and exchange knowledge. Discussions also revolved around certification in First Aid, Adventure Insurance, Responsible Tourism, Outdoor Activities during Schools Tours, and the technical know-how of extreme Adventure Gears.
The next round will see roadshows being held in Hyderabad, New Delhi, Siliguri and Pasighat.
Ajeet Bajaj, President, ATOAI, welcomed delegates to this platform to delve on the opportunities for Adventure Tourism in Maharashtra in general, and India, in particular. “These events will offer networking opportunities to our members, and throw the spotlight on the varied options for adventure activities and its scope in India.”
