Antara to operate vegan river cruise on Ganges from Sept 6-16

Antara Cruises has launched a dedicated vegan river cruise on the Ganges, sailing round-trip from Kolkata, India. The 11-day ‘Princely Murshidabad & Secrets of Sundarbans Special Vegan Cruise’ on Ganges Voyager will include visits to Bandel, Kalna, Matiari, Khushbagh, Baranagar, Murshidabad, Mayapur, Chandernagore and Sundarbans.
A fully vegan kitchen, wines, personal products and housekeeping products are set to feature on board the ship, which will sail through areas where European settlers once established East Indian companies, leaving behind remnants of their settlements from the 17th-19th centuries.
The voyage from September 6-16 will be rich in history, passing battlefields and former colonial palaces that line the banks of the Ganges.
In Kolkata, passengers can participate in a panoramic guided tour, while in Kalna, they will be able to take an electric rickshaw ride through the city centre to the Rajbari complex, home to the highest concentration of temples in the region.
Passengers will be able to interact with a naturalist on the ecosystem of the Sundarbans National Park UNESCO World Heritage site, home to the world’s largest delta mangrove forest.
