Fast-track immigration coming to 7 airports

The Indian government is set to expand the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) to seven more major airports, including Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, following its initial launch in Delhi. The program facilitates faster immigration clearance for pre-verified Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.

Under FTI-TTP, participants can use e-gates for expedited clearance by scanning their boarding passes and passports, with biometric authentication ensuring a seamless process. The program is similar to the U.S. Global Entry Program, offering streamlined immigration for low-risk international travellers.

FTI-TTP registration is valid for five years or until passport expiration. Applicants must apply online, provide biometric data at designated airports, and ensure at least six months of passport validity. Over 18,000 people have already registered for the service.

The initiative aims to enhance international mobility by making travel faster, smoother, and more secure. Initially covering Indian citizens and OCI holders, the program will eventually include foreign travelers and be implemented at 21 airports across India.
