Malaysia keen to explore bilateral tourism promotion with India

Malaysia is eager to promote bilateral relations with India, particularly in the tourism and cultural sectors, said Consul General of Malaysia in Mumbai, Ahmad Zuwairi Yusoff.

Yusoff said that Malaysia will explore opportunities of twin cities and sister cities between Goa and Melaka province of Malaysia owing to their cultural and heritage similarities.

Speaking at an event to promote Malaysia’s tourism industry, Yusoff said that his country is eager to take forward the good relations between India and Goa.

“Goa is one of the cities where we aim to get a market for incoming tourists to Malaysia. Malaysia and India are in good bilateral relations, and one of them is tourism and we don’t just want to stop there. We want to improve it more. Goa of course is on our mind — we need to explore more,” he said.

Yusoff said that Malaysia’s tourism sector can also learn from Goa, which is a familiar name globally and a popular tourist destination. (Source: TOI)
