TAAI Nagpur Chapter has recently conducted a ‘Destination Training’ program for its members as well as people who are not the members of TAAI. “We have taken a new initiative to upgrade the knowledge of a destination of our members as well as non-members. These training programs will be conducted every two months,” said Irshad Abde Musa Mehdi, Chairman-TAAI Nagpur Chapter.
Their first training program was started with Destination Iceland. This training session was conducted by Pushpa Khubchandani of Pawansut Travels who has vast experience on the destination. “She hosted the training in a way that it looked like it was arranged by the Tourism Board of Iceland. The way she pronounced the difficult words of the different places had impressed everyone a lot. She also shared a model skeleton itinerary of Iceland along with her presentation with all the members present,” said Mehdi. He also said that they received positive feedback from the members who have participated in the session. “We are confident that the session has boosted the confidence of the participants to sell Iceland as a destination,” said Mehdi.
Later, speaking to TravelBiz Monitor, Mehdi said that the training session highlighted the potential regions that are popular with Indian travellers. “We are going to organise many more such programs in the months to come. Our next training session will be on Scandinavian which will be conducted in the month of June,”he said.
