Goa International Travel Mart kicks off with optimism

The Goa International Travel Mart (GITM) 2024 kicked off with a grand inaugural ceremony held at Bay 15, Dona Paula yesterday. The inauguration, held in the distinguished presence of Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Goa, Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director Tourism & Managing Director GTDC, Nilesh Shah, TTAG President, Vivek Kerkar, Skal President Goa Chapter and Carlos Desouza, Convenor CII commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony.

Anchipaka delivered the opening address, emphasising the significance of GITM in promoting tourism and fostering meaningful collaborations. “GITM serves as a cornerstone event in our efforts to elevate Goa’s tourism sector to new heights. By bringing together industry stakeholders, professionals, and enthusiasts from around the world, GITM provides a unique opportunity to showcase the diverse offerings of our beautiful state to a global audience. GITM facilitates meaningful collaborations and partnerships that are essential for sustainable growth in the tourism industry. It also gives hoteliers and tour operators a golden chance to showcase their businesses and connect with leaders globally.”

Shah said “At the 4th edition of GITM 2024, we find a pivotal platform aimed not only at fostering sustainable and regenerative tourism practices but also at shining a spotlight on the myriad dimensions of Goa that extend beyond its beaches and spiritual tourism. GITM 2024 stands as a staunch advocate for preserving and promoting Goa’s natural and cultural heritage, ensuring the welfare of our community and environment, all while celebrating the richness of our cultural tapestry.”

As the inaugural ceremony concluded, attendees partook in networking opportunities and the stage was set for an exciting line-up of performances, promising attendees a memorable and enriching experience for the next two days at GITM 2024.
