Nepal signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh Tourism

 

The Embassy of Nepal, led by Nepal’s Ambassador to India, Surendra Thapa, alongside Taranath Adhikari, Minister, signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh Tourism.

Representing Andhra Pradesh were Nukasani Balaji, Chairman of APTDC, and K. Vijay Mohan, President of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum and the Tours and Travels Association. This agreement marks the first MoU signed by the Nepal government with any Indian state.

The MoU aims to strengthen tourism ties between Nepal and Andhra Pradesh, with a focus on promoting and developing tourism, fostering cooperation, and sharing resources, expertise, and knowledge.

Vijay Mohan, speaking on the occasion, emphasised the vision of this partnership, highlighting its potential to enhance tourism, facilitate cultural exchanges, and drive mutual growth.

This agreement is a significant step in the relationship between Nepal and Andhra Pradesh, paving the way for collaboration in travel, tourism, and hospitality while leveraging the rich cultural and natural heritage of both regions.

Tourism Malaysia honors Indian Travel partners

 

Tourism Malaysia Delhi hosted an exclusive “Appreciation Night” on December 19, 2024, at QBA Lounge, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The event celebrated the invaluable contributions of Indian tour operators, airlines, media, influencers, and golf organisations in promoting Malaysia as a top travel destination. Marking a significant milestone, over 1 million Indian travellers visited Malaysia this year, highlighting the growing tourism bond between the two nations.

His Excellency Dato’ Muzafar Shah Mustafa, High Commissioner of Malaysia to India, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian travel community, emphasising their crucial role in achieving this milestone and the potential for even greater collaboration ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026. He commended the trust, partnership, and dedication that have made Malaysia a preferred destination for Indian travellers. Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali, Director of Tourism Malaysia Delhi, also acknowledged the pivotal role of Indian travel partners in the country’s tourism growth.

The event highlighted Malaysia’s enhanced connectivity with India, including new direct routes to Penang and Langkawi. These developments strengthen ties and position Malaysia as a leading destination for Indian travellers, paving the way for greater tourism success in the years to come.

Israel Tourism eyes Indian Adventure Market

 

The Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) recently participated in the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) convention in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, marking its debut at the event. IMOT aimed to promote Israel as an adventure destination while strengthening ties with Indian tourism professionals and stakeholders. Discussions centered around sustainable travel initiatives, collaboration opportunities, and familiarisation trips to offer Indian tour operators firsthand experiences of Israel’s adventure offerings.

Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing, IMOT-India, emphasised Israel’s diverse appeal for thrill-seekers. She highlighted activities like hiking in Eilat’s rugged mountains, rappelling in the Golan Heights, and scuba diving in the Red Sea, which make Israel an unparalleled adventure destination. IMOT’s participation allowed for deeper insights into the Indian adventure travel market and encouraged travel agents to incorporate Israel’s unique experiences into their itineraries.

Israel has seen a steady increase in Indian tourists, with 8,500 visitors from January to October. With the upcoming Jubilee year celebrations, IMOT is keen on leveraging its potential to attract more Indian travellers. The convention reaffirmed its commitment to diversifying tourism products and building lasting partnerships with the Indian travel trade.

The shared passion for exploration between India and Israel offers immense growth opportunities for adventure tourism. IMOT’s active engagement at ATOAI sets the foundation for increased tourist arrivals and stronger cultural ties between the two nations.

Amadeus’ enhanced deal with United to include NDC & EDIFACT content

Amadeus has signed an enhanced distribution agreement with United Airlines. As part of the agreement, the Chicago-based carrier will offer a wide range of content through the Amadeus Travel Platform.

The partnership includes both New Distribution Capability (NDC) and EDIFACT content, providing travel sellers the broadest selection of flights and fares in the United States and around the world, helping them to create the personalised trips travellers increasingly expect through NDC.
