Bharat Gaurav trains to operate from New Jalpaiguri

 

On Friday, May 10, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) unveiled plans for the Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train, set to embark on an enriching journey through the scenic locales of North India, commencing from New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station on May 18th.

An NFR spokesperson highlighted that the Bharat Gaurav holds significance as the inaugural tourism special train, echoing the ethos of the government’s initiatives ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ and ‘Dekho Apna Desh’.

Spanning 8 nights and 9 days, this captivating voyage will take travelers to iconic destinations including Vaishno Devi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Ayodhya.

The train configuration encompasses AC-3 tier and economy/sleeper class coaches, traversing through picturesque landscapes via Malda Town, Rampurhat, Dumka, Bhagalpur, Jamalpur, and Kiul, ultimately arriving at Patna Junction on May 19. Subsequent halts are scheduled at Vaishno Devi Katra station on May 20th and 21, Haridwar station on May 22 and 23, Mathura on May 24, and Ayodhya on May 25.

The homeward journey initiates from Ayodhya, with the train arriving at Patna Junction on May 26, facilitating disembarkation for tourists to proceed to their respective destinations until reaching New Jalpaiguri station.
