In a landmark moment for the Indian tourism industry, Skål International officially inaugurated its Jammu & Kashmir club today at The Countryside Resort & Banquets in Srinagar. The grand ceremony was attended by Skål India board members, regional tourism stakeholders, and dignitaries, making it a milestone event for tourism in the region.
The occasion was graced by Farooq Ahmad Shah, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Jammu & Kashmir, who commended the initiative, stating, “Tourism is the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir’s economy. I’m confident that this club will significantly boost our efforts in showcasing the region’s rich heritage and natural beauty.”
With the installation of this club, Skål International now boasts 19 active clubs across India, reinforcing its status as the largest global network of tourism professionals. The Jammu & Kashmir chapter aims to foster innovation and collaborative development within the region’s tourism and hospitality sectors.
Club President Abdul Wahid Malik emphasised their mission to highlight the state’s cultural richness and natural splendor, while Sanjeev Mehra, President of Skål India, hailed the move as a “game-changer” for regional tourism. NSN Mohan, Regional Director, lauded the resilience of Jammu & Kashmir’s tourism industry and pledged continued support for its growth.
The newly formed committee includes key office bearers committed to advancing tourism in the region, with national and international congratulations pouring in—marking the club’s inception as a globally recognised milestone.
