Asian airlines continued to lead the industry in schedule reliability, according to aviation analytics firm OAG’s On-Time Performance (OTP) report for May 2026, which analysed millions of flights worldwide.
Topping the global rankings was Garuda Indonesia, which recorded an outstanding on-time arrival rate of 97.77%, making it the world’s most punctual airline during the month.
The report highlights Asia’s strong performance, with airlines from Northeast Asia accounting for half of the world’s top ten carriers. Among them was South Korean low-cost airline Jeju Air, which achieved an on-time performance rate of 92.18% while operating 6,682 flights without a single cancellation.
Royal Jordanian emerged as one of the standout performers, ranking third globally with an on-time arrival rate of 93.68% and a remarkably low cancellation rate of just 0.6%. The result is particularly notable given the operational challenges and regional instability affecting the Middle East.
The report also noted that 16 airlines worldwide completed May without cancelling a single flight. Among the most notable were British carrier Jet2, which operated 14,298 flights with no cancellations, and Philippine airline Cebu Pacific, which completed more than 12,000 scheduled flights without disruptions.
Among low-cost carriers, Norwegian distinguished itself as Europe’s most punctual airline. In contrast, InterCaribbean Airways faced significant operational difficulties, recording a cancellation rate of nearly 15%—the highest of any airline globally during the month.
