Tourism stakeholders in Ladakh have expressed appreciation for the sustained efforts of the Tourism Department in branding, promotion, and policy reforms, voicing confidence that these coordinated initiatives will lead to a stronger tourism season in 2026. Industry representatives said the administration’s proactive outreach and responsiveness have restored optimism across the sector.
The All Ladakh Hotel & Guest House Association (ALHAGHA) and the All Ladakh Adventure & Tour Operators Association (ALATOA) reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the administration to ensure that tourism growth in Ladakh remains responsible, inclusive, and sustainable, benefiting both the local economy and communities.
The tourism sector in Ladakh was significantly impacted by the fallout of the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, which caused a sharp decline in visitor arrivals. The fragile recovery was further disrupted by incidents of violence in Leh in September, compounding challenges for hotels, guest houses, and tour operators.
In a recent meeting, ALHAGHA President Rigzin Wangmo Lachic, ALATOA General Secretary Tsewang Namgyal, and ALHAGHA Vice President Nawang Tashi met Tourism Secretary Sanjit Rodrigues, Director Tourism Tsering Paldan, and Additional Director Tourism Leh Padma Angmo to formally convey their gratitude for the department’s consistent support and engagement.
Stakeholders said the department’s focus on strategic promotion, improved coordination, and policy reforms has strengthened confidence in Ladakh’s tourism revival. They expressed hope that with continued collaboration, 2026 will mark a robust and sustainable turnaround for the region’s tourism industry.
