The Utah Office of Tourism has appointed Tera Atwood as its new Global Markets Specialist to strengthen Utah’s presence in international markets, with a special focus on India. With rising travel demand from India, Atwood will work on increasing awareness, building trade partnerships, and promoting Utah as a premier U.S. destination for Indian travelers.
Atwood brings extensive expertise in tourism marketing and is eager to engage with the Indian market. She emphasised India’s growing travel potential and aims to showcase Utah’s stunning landscapes, adventure opportunities, and luxury experiences to Indian tourists. In 2023, Indian travelers spent USD 16.7 million in Utah, and with projected growth of over 200% from 2019 to 2028, the state is committed to expanding its footprint in India.
Utah offers a diverse range of experiences, from its iconic Mighty 5 national parks to luxury glamping, winter sports, and stargasing in designated Dark Sky Places. The state’s 2025 strategy also emphasises sustainable tourism, trekking, and film tourism, tapping into Utah’s famous Hollywood filming locations.
Atwood’s role will extend beyond India, covering key Asia-Pacific markets such as Australia, New Zealand, and China, along with Canada and Mexico. She will collaborate with in-market representatives to develop targeted campaigns and enhance Utah’s global appeal.
With Atwood’s leadership, the Utah Office of Tourism is set to attract more international visitors, positioning the state as a top travel destination for Indian tourists and beyond
