Nepal Tourism Board has partnered with TikTok to launch a creator-led campaign aimed at promoting the country’s tourism. The initiative will feature local and international travel creators exploring Nepal’s famous attractions and hidden gems. Their short-form videos will highlight the country’s natural beauty, festivals, arts, cuisine, and cultural traditions, shared via TikTok under the dedicated #VisitNepal in-app experience.
Tourism Minister Badri Pandey expressed optimism that the collaboration would extend Nepal’s global reach and attract more international visitors. He emphasised that the campaign could strengthen the nation’s socio-economic standing by drawing more tourists to its landscapes and heritage. The campaign is set to roll out throughout the rest of 2025, ensuring a continuous stream of engaging travel content.
This move marks a significant turnaround for TikTok in Nepal. The platform was banned in November 2023 over concerns of social disruption and indecent content but reinstated in August 2024 after TikTok pledged to address these issues and assist authorities in tackling cybercrime.
The partnership leverages the popularity of TikTok to tap into younger, digitally active audiences worldwide, positioning Nepal as an accessible and attractive destination for cultural and adventure tourism.
