Regional airline FLY91 has inducted two aircraft under long-term operating leases from global regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord, marking a key step in its phased fleet expansion strategy. The move is aimed at strengthening air connectivity across India’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where demand for reliable regional air services continues to rise.
The first aircraft entered service in December 2025, while the second was delivered in January 2026 and is scheduled to commence operations in February. With this transaction, TrueNoord becomes FLY91’s second aircraft lessor, further diversifying the airline’s leasing partnerships and supporting its growth plans.
Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO of FLY91, said the partnership provides flexibility to scale operations in line with market demand. He noted that the addition of a second global lessor reflects confidence in FLY91’s operational capabilities, governance framework, and execution strength as a regional carrier.
One of the newly inducted aircraft will be based in Goa, the airline’s home base, while the other will operate from Hyderabad. This deployment supports FLY91’s dual-hub strategy and reinforces its focus on connecting underserved regional routes with efficient and reliable air services.
Harsha Raghavan, Chairman of FLY91 and Managing Partner at Convergent Finance, highlighted that the collaboration enables responsible growth while maintaining financial and operational discipline. He emphasised that structured partnerships are essential for sustainable expansion in India’s evolving regional aviation landscape.
India’s regional aviation sector continues to gain momentum, supported by rising demand from smaller cities and government initiatives such as UDAN. With its fleet now expanded to four aircraft, FLY91 currently serves nine destinations and plans to grow its network to 15 destinations by the first quarter of 2026, supported by the induction of two additional aircraft.
