The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the financial year 2024-25 at The Park Hotel, New Delhi on 25 September 2025. The event reflected the association’s ongoing commitment to advancing adventure tourism across India and bringing stakeholders together to discuss future goals. The AGM was followed by a lively Fellowship Dinner that celebrated industry unity and collective growth.
In his opening address, ATOAI President Ajeet Bajaj outlined a clear strategy to elevate India’s position in global adventure tourism. He announced key initiatives such as adopting international safety standards, strengthening regional chapters, enhancing guide training, and supporting women entrepreneurs. The association aims to position India among the top 10 global adventure destinations by 2034, showing a long-term vision for the sector.
Honorary Secretary Ronny Singh Gulati presented the annual report during the meeting, highlighting milestones in industry standardisation and leadership. His presentation reflected the progress made in aligning Indian adventure tourism practices with international benchmarks. Honorary Treasurer Nirat Bhatt then shared a robust financial overview, reaffirming the association’s operational strength and fiscal stability.
ATOAI expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism, various state governments, the Indian Army and its members for their steadfast support. This recognition underscored the importance of collaboration between government bodies and private operators to ensure sustainable and safe adventure tourism across the country.
The evening concluded with the Fellowship Dinner attended by dignitaries and industry leaders. Among them was Ajit Pal Singh, Regional Director at the Ministry of Tourism, who emphasised India’s vast adventure tourism potential and the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to capacity building, safety standards and partnerships with industry experts.
Founded in 1994, ATOAI represents more than 700 adventure travel professionals nationwide. The association continues to focus on sustainable tourism, safety excellence and responsible exploration, building a strong network to advance India’s adventure tourism industry and provide benefits for both travellers and local communities.
