Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have signed a commercial cooperation framework agreement, marking a major step towards deepening their long-standing partnership. The agreement creates a structured pathway for the two Star Alliance members to move towards definitive joint business arrangements, aimed at improving connectivity between India and Singapore while offering enhanced travel choices and benefits to customers.
The agreement was signed in Mumbai on 16 January 2026 by Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson and Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong. Subject to regulatory approvals, the collaboration will enable both airlines to expand and enhance product and service offerings, allowing passengers to enjoy smoother, more integrated travel experiences across the two networks.
A key focus of the strengthened partnership is the creation of seamless journeys, where customers will be able to book flights across both airlines under a single itinerary. The airlines also plan to coordinate flight schedules more closely, improving connection times and overall convenience for travellers flying between India, Singapore, and beyond.
The framework also opens opportunities for deeper engagement in the corporate travel segment. Air India and SIA will explore greater cross-participation in their corporate travel programmes, improving value propositions for business travellers.
Additionally, plans are in place to progressively enhance frequent flyer privileges beyond existing Star Alliance benefits for members of Air India’s Maharaja Club and SIA’s KrisFlyer programmes.
Beyond the India–Singapore market, the airlines intend to explore expanding the scope of cooperation in select international markets, subject to regulatory approvals. This broader collaboration aims to meet rising global connectivity demand, support traffic flow through both carriers’ hubs, and strengthen air travel and tourism ties between India and Singapore.
Currently, Air India and Singapore Airlines codeshare on 61 destinations across 20 countries and territories. This follows the expansion of their codeshare partnership in October 2024, which added 51 new international and domestic destinations. Both airlines have stated that further details of the enhanced cooperation will be announced as plans are finalised.
