Air India and IndiGo, have suspended all flights to and from the Middle East following the escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict. The decision comes amid rising tensions and reported strikes across key locations in the region, disrupting airspace and prompting safety concerns.
Air India announced a complete suspension of its Middle East operations, stating that passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority. The airline confirmed it will continue monitoring the situation and adjust flight schedules based on security assessments and official advisories.
IndiGo also cancelled its flights to and from the Middle East until midnight, citing evolving airspace restrictions around Iran and neighbouring countries. The airline stated that operational decisions are being recalibrated continuously in response to the developing geopolitical situation.
The advisories follow reports of strikes affecting multiple regional hubs, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, raising widespread concerns across global aviation networks. Several international airlines have also announced route changes, suspensions, and cancellations due to airspace closures and security threats.
Airlines across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East are grappling with rerouting challenges as the conflict intensifies. Passengers are advised to check with airlines for updates and travel support options.
Both Air India and IndiGo have assured travellers that assistance teams are actively supporting affected passengers, while operations will resume once the situation stabilises and airspace conditions are deemed safe.
