SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC) has been named an IATA Authorised Training Centre (ATC) Preferred Partner for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in aviation training and further strengthening its standing among IATA’s leading global training partners. The College, recognised as one of the 10 best-performing IATA Training Centres worldwide, has now received this distinction for the second consecutive year.
The ATC Preferred status is awarded globally to high-performing IATA training institutions that consistently demonstrate excellence in delivering internationally recognised aviation programmes. The recognition is based on several performance indicators, including the number of IATA programmes conducted and student enrolment figures, reflecting the trust, credibility and strong reputation SLAC has built as a leading aviation training provider in the region.
SriLankan Aviation College first became an IATA Accredited Training Centre in 2008 and was subsequently elevated to IATA Regional Training Partner (RTP) status in 2014. Since then, the College has received multiple accolades from IATA in recognition of its sustained excellence and contribution to aviation training and human capital development. Today, SLAC remains the only IATA Regional Training Partner in Sri Lanka and one of only a handful in the wider region, underscoring its leadership in professional aviation education.
The quality of training at SLAC, combined with its modern facilities and long-standing reputation for excellence, has firmly established it as a leading aviation training provider in the region. The College’s students have consistently delivered strong academic results, including island-best performances across various IATA programmes over the years, further reinforcing its reputation for academic excellence.
As an IATA ATC Preferred Partner, SLAC is entitled to a range of exclusive benefits that enhance its ability to deliver world-class aviation training. The College currently offers a portfolio of internationally recognised IATA programmes, including the IATA Airline Cabin Crew Qualification, IATA Foundation in Travel & Tourism Diploma, IATA Cargo Introductory Qualification and IATA Managing the Travel Business programme, equipping students with the knowledge and professional competencies needed to succeed in the global aviation and travel sectors.
With over four decades of experience delivering aviation training to international standards, SriLankan Aviation College serves as the training arm of Sri Lanka’s national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, offering a broad range of training options across the region. The College is certified by several international and regional bodies, including IATA, the Civil Aviation Authorities of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the Maldives, and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). It is also a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the European Aviation Maintenance Training Committee, and collaborates with globally recognised training and academic institutions to offer comprehensive aviation and corporate training programmes for students and working professionals alike.
