Saudi Arabia is strengthening its international connectivity with the launch of six new air routes linking Riyadh to major destinations across Europe and the Middle East. The expansion is aimed at meeting growing demand for both business and leisure travel while supporting the capital’s emergence as a global tourism and commercial hub.
The new routes include London, Madrid, Manchester, Dubai, Cairo and Jeddah. In response to strong demand, the launch of the London service has been advanced from July 1 to June 10. Flights to Jeddah will begin on June 14, followed by Dubai on June 18, Cairo on June 25, Madrid on July 17 and Manchester on July 23.
The expansion comes amid rapid development across Riyadh and Saudi Arabia. Large-scale projects such as Diriyah, Qiddiya and King Abdullah Financial District are attracting international visitors, investors and businesses, increasing the need for stronger air connectivity.
Regional services to Dubai and Cairo will strengthen two of the Middle East’s busiest travel corridors, while the addition of Madrid and Manchester further enhances Riyadh’s links with Europe. The new routes are expected to boost tourism, trade, cultural exchange and business travel between Saudi Arabia and key international markets.
Saudi Arabia has also introduced several measures to simplify travel. Its eVisa programme now covers 66 countries and special administrative regions. Additional options such as the GCC Residents Visa and the complimentary 96-hour Stopover Visa provide greater flexibility for travellers visiting the Kingdom.
Visitors holding valid UK, US or Schengen visas, as well as residents of the United Kingdom, United States and European Union countries, are also eligible for an instant eVisa. These initiatives form part of Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to increase international arrivals and support the country’s tourism growth ambitions.
