A preparatory meeting for the upcoming Kinnaur Kailash Yatra in Himachal Pradesh was chaired by Kalpa Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Amit Kaltaik, who reviewed logistical, medical, and safety arrangements. He confirmed that the pilgrimage will commence from Tangling village, with the alternate Purbani Kanda route being considered only after an on-ground assessment.
To ensure the health and safety of all pilgrims, a base camp will be set up at Malling Khatta in Tangling, where mandatory medical check-ups will be conducted. Only those who pass the health screening and pay a green fee of INR 200 will be permitted to continue the trek. For convenience, online registrations will begin on July 11, followed by offline registrations at Tangling on July 14.
The SDM announced the formation of a Quick Response Team to manage emergencies and emphasised the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the yatra. Local panchayat bodies have been directed to provide full support to the administration for smooth execution.
Arrangements are being made for essential facilities along the route, including solar lighting, public toilets, clean drinking water, resting shelters, medical posts, and oxygen cylinders. Notably, Ganesh Park will be equipped with large oxygen cylinders and a medical officer, while Parvati Cave will host a paramedical team with smaller oxygen supplies.
SDM Kaltaik assured that the district administration is committed to ensuring a safe and well-organised pilgrimage experience for all devotees, with all major health, safety, and logistical measures in place.
