Maharashtra has officially opened its first-ever glass bridge, built dramatically over the scenic Napne Waterfall near Vaibhavwadi in Sindhudurg district. Designed to boost eco-tourism, this striking structure offers an exhilarating skywalk experience with transparent flooring, allowing visitors to look straight down into the cascading waters below.
Inaugurated under the Sindhuratna tourism initiative, the bridge is situated near Nadhavade village on the Kolhapur-Tarle National Highway, making it easily accessible by road. The INR 99.63 lakh project has been crafted to highlight the untouched beauty of Napne Falls, a perennial waterfall known for its lush greenery and serene ambience.
The skywalk presents a unique opportunity for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers to soak in panoramic views of the surrounding forests and the thundering waterfall. The glass bridge is engineered for safety, offering a secure platform for capturing photographs and moments that feel like walking on air.
Announcing the launch on social media, Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane shared images and wrote, “1st Glass Bridge over a waterfall in Vaibhavwadi Sindhudurg! Open to the public from today!”
The bridge is expected to be a major tourism draw, adding a new dimension to Maharashtra’s adventure tourism map.
