IndiGo is expanding its international reach by launching direct flights from Mumbai to three Central Asian destinations — Almaty (Kazakhstan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and Tbilisi (Georgia). The new routes will begin with Mumbai–Almaty from July 1, followed by Tashkent from August 1 and Tbilisi from August 2. This marks a significant step forward in IndiGo’s strategy to broaden its overseas network.
The airline had already introduced flights to these cities from Delhi in 2023. The new services from Mumbai build on that success, responding to rising demand for travel between India and Central Asia. IndiGo plans to operate four weekly flights to Almaty and Tashkent, and three to Tbilisi, offering increased connectivity and convenience for travellers.
These routes are expected to strengthen economic, cultural, and tourism ties between India and the region. They aim to promote bilateral trade, enhance tourism, and deepen people-to-people connections.
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, emphasised that this expansion reflects the airline’s continued commitment to making global travel accessible. He added that these culturally rich destinations will now be more accessible to Indian travelers, boosting inbound and outbound tourism.
