India’s aviation sector is preparing for a transformative leap with the Inter Passenger Terminal Show 2025 (IPTS 2025), scheduled for June 11–12 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. With Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIAL) on board as Airport Partner, IPTS 2025 is set to showcase breakthrough technologies, AI/ML-powered solutions, and new-age passenger experiences. Confirmed industry participants include Digi Yatra, Dormakaba, and global innovators like Leonardo and Cognitech, promising a forward-thinking convergence of infrastructure and insight.
Amid booming passenger numbers and soaring domestic air travel, India is investing over INR 60,000 crore in airport infrastructure from 2025–2027. Projections estimate a CAGR of 8–9% in passenger growth, underlining the urgency for next-gen terminal solutions. January 2025 saw a 14.5% rise in domestic traffic—an indicator of aviation’s critical role in economic development. With the support of both central and state leadership, India is on track to become one of the world’s top three aviation markets by 2052.
Speaking on the sector’s momentum, Taher Patrawala, Managing Director of Media Fusion, called IPTS 2025 a “game-changer,” bridging innovation and strategy. Complementing this, Maharashtra Airport Development Company Ltd. praised ongoing government efforts, including the UDAN scheme and the state’s largest Flight Training Organisation (FTO) in Amravati, as foundational elements in India’s aviation success story.
As Digi Yatra CEO Suresh Khadakbhavi noted, operational airports have more than doubled in a decade—from 74 to nearly 160—while India now trails only China in air travel growth. With 120 new destinations planned under a revamped UDAN and a focus on sustainable, smart aviation, IPTS 2025 will serve as a launchpad for future-ready air travel, redefining passenger engagement, connectivity, and national progress.
