IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, a 115-key hotel in Dhangadhi, Nepal. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028, the project marks IHG’s entry into Nepal’s Sudurpashchim Province and reflects its strategy to expand in emerging, high-growth South Asian markets.
The signing strengthens IHG’s footprint in Nepal by introducing the globally recognised Holiday Inn brand to a new region. With over 1,200 hotels worldwide, Holiday Inn is known for consistent quality, warm hospitality, and guest-focused services, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will be located in the city centre as part of a mixed-use development. Positioned around 8.5 km from Dhangadhi Airport and close to the India–Nepal border, the hotel will benefit from strong connectivity and serve cross-border travellers, government officials, and transit guests.
The hotel will feature 115 modern guest rooms along with four food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, and pool bar. Additional facilities will include meeting rooms, a ballroom, a fitness centre, and a swimming pool.
Dhangadhi is emerging as an important commercial and tourism hub in western Nepal, supported by infrastructure development and rising domestic travel. The hotel is also expected to attract leisure tourists visiting nearby attractions such as Shuklaphanta National Park and Ghodaghodi Lake.
This signing highlights IHG’s confidence in Nepal’s hospitality growth potential and reinforces its long-term commitment to expanding internationally branded hotels in underpenetrated destinations across South Asia.
