Akasa Air is all set to launch its first international service from Kochi to Jeddah on June 29, 2025. This marks a major milestone in the airline’s international expansion plans. Initially, one flight will operate on June 29 and July 6, with services ramping up from July 13, when Akasa begins running two flights every Sunday. The carrier aims to tap into strong demand from Kerala’s large expat population in Saudi Arabia, particularly for business and pilgrimage travel.
The new Kochi–Jeddah route will see four weekly round-trip flights, operating on Saturdays, Sundays (twice), and Mondays. Flights will be operated using the fuel-efficient Boeing 737 Max aircraft with a 186-seat all-economy configuration. Saturday and Monday flights depart Kochi at 6:10 PM and arrive in Jeddah by 9:55 PM, with returns at 6:45 AM. Sunday schedules feature a 3:00 AM departure and 7:45 AM return, and a second round with 8:30 PM departure and 10:10 AM return the next day.
Akasa’s entry into the Kochi–Jeddah corridor expands its growing Middle East network, which already includes cities like Doha and Abu Dhabi. These destinations align with the airline’s vision to make international travel more affordable for Indians, especially those visiting the Gulf region for work or religious purposes. With increasing outbound travel from Tier 2 cities, Kochi has emerged as a key aviation hub for Akasa’s global ambitions.
This expansion also strengthens India–Saudi Arabia connectivity at a time when demand for flights between the two countries is rising steadily. With competitive pricing and reliable service, Akasa aims to capture a significant share of this market. The airline’s strategy, built on operating lean, efficient aircraft and offering no-frills service, is well-suited for cost-conscious international travellers.
