Goibibo launches Student goPass

Advancing its mission to provide youth-oriented offerings, Goibibo has unveiled its latest programme – the Student goPass.

Conceptualised to cater to the unique needs of the vast student population in India, this goPass empowers students with enhanced travel experiences on a budget that aligns with their dynamic, fast-paced lifestyle and aspirations.
This will be a sustained intervention from the brand encompassing affordable propositions across various travel categories across domestic hotels, flights, buses, and international hotels and flights.

With this goPass, in the domestic segment, students can enjoy a flat 25% discount (up to INR 2,000) on domestic hotel bookings; a discount of INR 600 on already discounted student special fares on flights; a complete waiver on convenience fees for train bookings amongst other offers. International travel is covered, with discounts of flat 5% up to INR 5,000 on flights and flat 20% up to INR 3,000 on hotels.

 

EaseMyTrip records highest ever GBR of INR 2,371 during Q1, FY24

EaseMyTrip.com has recorded its highest-ever quarterly GBR (Gross Booking Revenue) of INR 2,371 crores with a growth of 42.6% YoY in Q1, FY24.

Adjusted revenue also reported a growth of 46.9% YoY , reaching to INR 193.2 crores in Q1FY24, as against INR 131.5 cores in Q1FY23. The company recorded a Profit after Tax (PAT) of INR 25.9 crores for Q1FY24.

EaseMyTrip sold 32.1 lakh air tickets (net of cancellations) in Q1FY24, a growth of 43.3% YoY, from 22.4 lakh bookings in Q1FY23. The total hotel nights sold in Q1FY24 were 1.6 lakhs, as compared to 0.7 lakh in Q1FY23, marking a increase of 123.2%. The Others segment, which include Trains, Buses, and Others, saw an encouraging uptick of 39.6% YoY, recording 2.2 lakh bookings in Q1FY24 from 1.6 lakh bookings in Q1FY23.

EaseMyTrip’s Dubai operation clocked INR 53.0 crores in Q1FY24, growing at 648.8% YoY from INR 7.1 crores and 22.3% QoQ from INR 43.3 crores. The cumulative GBR from the Dubai business now stands at INR 171.4 crores.

 

Karnataka to operate 3,000 buses from June 21

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Sunday said it planned to operate about 3,000 buses initially from June 21, with the government relaxing Covid-19 restrictions and permitting bus operations with riders. “The Government of Karnataka has issued orders relaxing the Covid-19 restrictions imposed in the state, except in Mysuru District and has permitted bus operations with 50 per cent seating capacity,” KSRTC said in a statement.

The Corporation said it will commence local and inter-district long route bus operations with effect from June 21, based on traffic density and need, except in Mysuru district, and initially it is planned to operate about 3,000 buses. On inter-state operations, a decision will be taken in the coming days, keeping in view guidelines of the respective states, KSRTC said and requested passengers to compulsorily follow Covid-19 guidelines while travelling in the corporation buses.

In the fresh Covid guidelines announced on Saturday, the government had said buses are permitted to operate with 50 per cent seating capacity, strictly adhering to Covid appropriate behaviour, and no travel by standing would be allowed. In Bengaluru, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will resume operations of about 2,000 on Monday from 6 AM to 7 PM, official sources said.

Metro Rail services have also been permitted, with 50 per cent occupancy, strictly adhering to Covid appropriate behaviour and SOPs issued by the concerned departments. Taxis, and auto rickshaws that have been permitted to operate can carry a maximum of two passengers only. (PTI)
