Air India set to launch Delhi-Phuket flights from December 15

Air India is set to establish a direct link between Delhi and Thailand’s popular island destination Phuket, with a non-stop service starting from December 15.

This new service is geared towards meeting the rising demand for seamless air travel between the two cities, catering to both tourism and trade. Also, the move is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the airline’s expansion strategies.

The service will be facilitated by an A320neo aircraft featuring 162 seats, with 150 in Economy and 12 in Business Class. The outbound flight, AI 378, will take off from Delhi at 1.10 am and touch down in Phuket at 7.10 am on the same day. The return flight, AI 379, is scheduled to depart from Phuket at 8.10 am.

Initially, the service will commence with a four-flights-a-week schedule, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Subsequently, from January 2024, the frequency is set to increase, transitioning to a daily operation.

“Phuket is a popular global destination and holds a significant base for business and tourism. We are delighted to welcome Phuket into our network and will continue to expand our connectivity and enhance frequency on domestic and international sectors providing more flexibility of choice to our customers and contributing to the growth in the aviation sector,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, Air India.

Air India currently operates a total of 26 weekly flights to Bangkok, with daily non-stop services from Delhi and Mumbai, along with six weekly flights from Kolkata.
