The Indian Embassy in Doha has confirmed that Qatar Airways operated 25 flights to India between the 20th and 22nd of the month, carrying approximately 7,750 Indian nationals back home. This large-scale flight operation came as part of ongoing efforts to support the Indian community in Qatar amid a challenging regional security situation.
As previously advised by Qatar Airways, passengers were able to book flight tickets through the airline’s official website, mobile app, or through authorised travel agents. This ensured that Indian nationals seeking to travel had multiple accessible channels to secure their journeys home during this period of heightened demand.
The advisory issued by the Embassy urged the Indian community in Qatar to closely follow and abide by the guidelines and directives issued by local authorities. It emphasised that adhering to instructions from competent authorities, as well as security and safety teams operating within workplaces, plays a key role in maintaining safe behaviour inside buildings during the ongoing situation.
With educational institutions set to gradually resume physical classes, the Embassy specifically requested that the Indian community closely follow emergency response procedures, including shelter-in-place protocols within educational facilities. This guidance was aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff as schools transitioned back to in-person learning.
The Embassy also revealed that the Ambassador held a meeting with a group of parents representing Indian students scheduled to appear for the JEE and NEET examinations. Officials confirmed that the Embassy remains in close coordination with India’s National Testing Agency and will continue to keep all concerned parties informed of further developments and updates regarding examination arrangements.
To support the wider Indian community throughout this period, the Embassy continues to operate its Control Room, alongside dedicated helplines, email support and WhatsApp services, ensuring that queries and concerns from community members are addressed promptly and effectively.
