Korea Travel Fiesta 2024 gains overwhelming response

 

The Korea Travel Fiesta 2024, organised by the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) India, successfully concluded its two-day extravaganza at DLF Avenue Saket from October 19 to 20. The event attracted thousands of visitors, offering an immersive experience of Korean culture through captivating performances, K-beauty sessions, and culinary delights. Actor Anushka Sen, Korea Tourism’s brand ambassador, added her star appeal to the festivities, further engaging audiences.

The Korea Tourism Roadshow, held a day earlier on October 18 at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, facilitated over 1,000 B2B meetings between 17 exhibitors, including leading attractions, airlines, and destination management companies. The roadshow, aimed at fostering long-term business partnerships, concluded with a Gala Night featuring special guests like Super 30 Founder Anand Kumar and Anushka Sen. Awards were presented to travel agencies and partners for their role in promoting tourism to Korea.

Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director (India & SAARC Countries) for KTO, hailed the events as a great success, noting the overwhelming response with approximately 800 visitors at the roadshow and more than 70,000 at the fiesta. He emphasised that the growing bond between India and Korea continues to strengthen, paving the way for more collaborative opportunities in tourism and cultural exchanges.

The Korea Travel Fiesta 2024 was a sensory journey into Korean culture, with performances by K-Pop dance crew One Way Crew, a Comic Martial Arts show by JUMP, and interactive zones featuring K-Beauty, K-Food, and K-Lucky Draws. The event fostered excitement for Korean experiences and highlighted South Korea as a top destination for Indian travellers, with a growing number of visitors drawn to the country’s vibrant entertainment, beauty, and food offerings.

Madame Tussauds India announces reopening, relocates to DLF Mall of India – NOIDA

Generally referred to as the ‘world’s greatest wax museum’, Madame Tussauds India has once again opened door to visitors at a new address, one of Delhi NCR’s premier shopping mall, the ‘DLF Mall of India’ at NOIDA. The openning was marked with a ceremony in the presence of press and media delegates yesterday at the venue. Earlier located at Connaught Place in downtown Delhi, Madame Tussauds wax museum had shut door because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns.

Spread over 16,000 square feet, the meseum showcases around 50 wax statues across five different segments, namely – historical figures leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, APJ Abdul Kalam to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sportsmen like Kapil Dev, Mary Kom and Virat Kohli, from films and TV, Music and Bollywood & Hollywood.

The tickets are priced at INR. 960 and INR. 760 for adults and children respectively. The figures consists of 60 per cent of Indian personalities and celebrities while the remaining are international personalities from arena such as movies, sports and others.

While announcing the opening of museum, Anshul Jain, General Manager and Director, merlin Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. said, “This is the only Madame Tussauds wax museum on the Indian subcontinent and will provide visitors with unique immersive experiences, matchless in every way. We are strategically located in the heart of NOIDA. We have opened at a new location and in a new avatar. There are five different zones – History and Leaders, Films & TV, Music, Sports and Bollywood & Hollywood, showcasing a host national and international personalities and celebrities in avatars as real as they are.”

All the figures displayed at the museum have been created at Madame Tussauds’ London Studio. Around 20 artists, including sculptors, painters, hair stylist and others work on a figure with great detailing and precision and it takes four to six months to finish a figure.
